Steve’s Jobs Fifteen minutes Speech at Stanford University [Short Analysis]
It was very inspiration speech from business point of view
and also from communication point of view. It is clearly seen that Stave Jobs wrote
it by himself, correct it, re-wrote it, and again polished it. This Article is
a part of Visual Communication Course; I received assignment to analyze this
article from visual communication point of view. I need to keep it short, I have
only 300 words though. So clean and to the point, also I put full speech below,
so you can watch it and tell me your reaction on it too!
Visual Communication:
Place – University amphitheatre, Open Air
Timing – Graduation Cermony, Open Air, Sun is shinning
People – just graduated students or going to be graduated
now. Proffesors, Doctors, Science & Business orientated people!
Event mood – Cherishing, some would say it is event of their
lives. For some this event matters more than wedding. It is opening opportunities
event. The final step into grown up live.
Visual Rethorics:
Logos – we still received only one side of the coins,
Steve’s side! Sooner or later we are going to face the death
Pathos – ‘I am going to tell you three stories, not a
biggie, right?’. Every time Steve Jobs had turned negative moments into a
positive one.
Ethos – College Dropped-Out, but still Succesfull!
Kairos – never graduated but his speech is valuable at Stand
Ford University
Steve Jobs started his speech with respect to university
that they invited him to this event. “I am honored to be with you today at your
commencement from one of the finest universities in the world”. He continued his
intro with explanation what going to happen next. There was three stories; three
different stories. I am not going to spoiler them. Just have a look by
yourself! In every story there is drama, but in every story he turned this
drama power into different power. Changing directions trick/move/communication
strategy move whatever you want to choose, listen it & look at it
attentively!!
I am out of words, Sorry.
Enjoy the Interview!
